Storied. Green Street: Development

UIUC Storied: Abigail Bobrow - No one could have predicted at the turn of the twentieth century that by the turn of the twenty-first century, once quaint Green Street in Campustown would be home to towering apartment buildings visible from the interstate and cater to almost 50,000 undergraduate and graduate students.

Today, there’s little the students in 1919 would recognize on Green Street, save for the cornices at the top of Busey Bank and Murphy’s Pub, visual markers we used as we put this story together.

BP opens 'information technology center' at UI Research Park

The News Gazette - The British oil and gas company BP is opening an office at the University of Illinois Research Park.

The park is holding an opening celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony today for the company, which is opening an "information technology center."

The center will have a full-time director and an interdisciplinary team of UI students.
